Caution: May contain Country-like music
I just finished making a mix of Country, Alt-Country, Americana and Country influenced songs. Little of this is my Mother’s country (although I’d imagine there’s a good portion that she’d come to like, given a chance), and I’m always on the lookout for country-like products similar to those below.
- The Ditty Bops - Ooh La La
- The Mendoza Line - Aspect of an Old Maid
- Crooked Still - Little Sadie
- Robbie Fulks - I Never Did Like Planes
- Tres Chicas - Desire
- Silver Jews - How Can I Love You If You Won’t Lie Down
- Alison Krauss - Down in the River to Pray
- Uncle Tupelo - Satan, Your Kingdom Must Come Down
- The Be Good Tanyas - House of the Rising Sun
- Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins - Handle With Care
- Mark Pickerel and His Praying Hands - Graffiti Girl
- The Loose Salute - Photographs and Tickets
- Robbie Fulks - Doin’ Right (for all the Wrong Reasons)
- Old 97’s - Victoria
- Gillian Welch - Orphan Girl
- Johnny Cash - Don’t Take Your Guns to Town
- Cowboy Junkies - Run For Your Life
- Rasputina - Transylvanian Concubine
- Mark Pickerel and His Praying Hands - A Town too Fast for Your Blues
- The Murmurs - Country Song
- Gillian Welch, Alison Krauss & Emmylou Harris - Didn’t Leave Nobody but the Baby

Sweet.
I love it when the aluminum bat of subtlety works out in my favor.
ETA: I also love it when I use all of my words.

i like that it’s subtlety, but it’s also recyclable.

Recycling is but a small part of the hippie image I, evidently, have.
