Top 100 Indie Songs of All Time
At least, according to this list. Their list is arranged according to release, not any preference, and they used a couple of criteria, namely that each artist is, for the most part, listed once, and each song was originally released by an indie label. I missed that last part on my first gander through; it’s pretty important to understanding why Cake, Nirvana and Wilco make appearances.
I’ve only listened to 18 of them, so I guess that makes me a poor student of indie history. It is, however, a standard turn-out for me on such lists. My list of what I’ve heard and further comments below the fold.
